Paul prayed for believers to get advanced Bible doctrinally teaching that would lead them to a spiritually mature understanding and appreciation of God the Father’s eternal plan as it relates to Christ and to His mystical body (i.e. the church universal). He understood that the Son came to bring us into intimacy with the Father and we must have an in-depth knowledge of Bible doctrine in the areas of Christology (doctrine of Christ) and Paterology (doctrine of the Father) to develop the spiritual capacity to fellowship with the Father and the Son on a mature basis. The Father comes down to the level of every believer and meets us on the basis of our spiritual maturity when we seek to fellowship with Him by means of the Spirit. If earthly fathers long to see their children develop temporal maturity, how much more does God the Father long to see His children reach spiritual maturity?
“It is easy for the maturing believer to see from Scripture, that in terms of personality, God the Father is the Supreme and Final Factor and Fact in power, authority, and government. All true, ultimate theology, ethics, philosophy, and science must begin and end with Him as Father. God the Father is the eternal, unchangeable, supreme, unique, and ultimate source, cause, and motive of the Godhead, and of all that is holy, right, and good. This is the attitude and position that God the Son took regarding those things according to His own statement in John 14:28.”

Pastor Ralph G. Braun (August 28, 2006)

There is only one true and living God (cf. Deut. 6:4) and He exists in three distinct persons as Father, Son, and Spirit (cf. Matt. 28:19-20). God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are co-equal in character and share in quality and totality all of the essence and attributes of the Triune Godhead (cf. John 10:30, 17:22 with Heb. 9:14 and I Pet. 4:14). However, God is not the author of confusion therefore within the Godhead there is eternal order (cf. I Cor. 14:33 with Ex. 3:14; Mal. 3:6).

“Then cometh the end (dispensation of Omega – eternity future), when He (Christ) shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He (Christ) shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For He (Christ) must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For He (the Father) hath put all things under His (Christ) feet. But when He (the Father) saith all things are put under Him (Christ), it is manifest that He (the Father) is excepted, which did put all things under Him (Christ). And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him (the Father) that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.” I Corinthians 15:24-28
