God the Son, as the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, came at the incarnation to explain the Father. No member of the Adamic (human) race had ever seen the Father, who eternally exists in His infinite glory beyond the comprehension of the finite natural mind of man (cf. I Cor. 2:7-16). It is impossible to know the truth about God the Father apart from a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ (cf. John 14:6) The Son did not leave heaven simply to save you and me. He came, not only to save us, but to make it possible for us to correctly learn about God and then to enjoy spiritually mature fellowship with the Father and with His Son.
John 14:6) “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” The Son did not leave heaven simply to save you and me. He came, not only to save us, but to make it possible for us to correctly learn about God and then to enjoy spiritually mature fellowship with the Father and with His Son. The sad but true fact is that 20th Century and 21st Century Christianity in the United States is not centered upon knowing and fellowshipping with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. Millions of people, including professing believers, do not have a real working knowledge of the true and living God which can only come from a correct understanding of Scripture. Even among believers, little knowledge of the true and living God exists because there is so little real in-depth Bible teaching in America today.
