Some of the Trends of World History at the Time of the Rapture & 2nd Advent
  1. False teachers will claim special authority from Christ (cf. Matt. 24:5a).
  2. Some men will actually claim to be Christ (cf. Matt. 24:5b).
  3. Large numbers of people will be misled by these false prophets and pseudo- Christ (cf. Matt. 24:5c
  4. Shooting wars & cold wars designed to deceive people into believing the world is about to end but are actually necessary to prepare the alignments of nations for the age of the Tribulation of Israel (cf. Matt. 24:6)
  5. Shooting wars and cold wars will exist between sovereign nations (cf. Matt. 24:7a).
  6. Civil wars will cause kingdoms to be divided, as their citizens’ fight against each other (cf. Matt, 24:7b).

The United Nations will nor bring an end to war and produce peace upon this earth. Christ has prophesied the continued existence of shooting wars and cold wars. Anyone, who promotes the idea that war can be eliminated from the earth prior to the Second Advent calls Christ a liar and He is not a liar!

  7. In a diversity of countries, famine will exist and will result in the starvation of many people (cf. Matt. 24:7c).
  8. In a diversity of countries, earthquakes will occur and cause massive amounts of damage. (cf. Matt. 24:7d).
  9. Believers will be brought into court and false accusations will be made against them (cf. Matt. 24:9a).
  10. Many believers will be martyred for their faith. (cf. Matt. 24:9b).
  11. The United Nations will pass laws designed to discriminate against Christians because of their hatred for the name of Christ (cf. Matt. 24:9c).
  12. Many will abandon their public professed faith in Christ (cf. Matt. 24:10a).
  13. Professed believers will turn against one another; some will become government informers who will assists in the arrest and prosecution of believers and professed believers will hate each other (cf. Matt. 24:10b).
  14. False prophets will claim to have new revelation from God and will mislead many people (cf. Matt. 24:11).
  15. Lawlessness will increase and result in many people’s love growing cold (cf. Matt. 24:12). We believe this covers all categories of human love (love for God, love for marriage partner, love for children, love for parents, love for siblings, love for other family members, love for neighbors, love for other believers, love for fellow citizens, and love for enemies).
  16. It will be as it was in the days of Noah. Matt. 24:37-38a; Lu. 17:26
    • There will be eating and drinking which is a normal activity of life but also typifies maximum social life as manifested in gluttony and drunkenness (cf. Matt. 24:38b; Lu. 17:27).
    • Marrying, which is a normal activity of life, and giving in marriage which implies wholesale divorce and remarriage (cf. Matt. 24:39b).
    • Spiritual ignorance concerning God’s coming work of divine judgment upon the earth (cf. Matt. 24:39c).
    • Religious rituals based upon human good works and aesthetic beauty but without spiritual authority or value (cf. Gen. 4:1-7).
    • Murder and especially the murder of another family member (cf. Gen. 4:8).
    • Extensive travel and wanderlust among people (cf. Gen. 4:12).
    • Population explosion (cf. Gen. 4:17).
    • Extensive city building (cf. Gen. 4:17a).
    • Family reputation building (cf. Gen. 4:17b).
    • Polygamy, either legal or common law, (cf. Gen. 4:19).
    • Extensive suburban house building – tents originally (cf. Gen. 4:20a).
    • Extensive livestock ranching implying high class eating (cf. Gen. 4:20b).
    • Design & manufacturing of musical instruments and establishment of entertainment industry (cf. Gen. 4:21).
    • Development of mining and manufacturing industry (cf. Gen. 4:22).
    • Satanic and demonic activity that made evil thinking the norm and standard for the culture and produced sexual immorality (cf.Gen. 6:1-5).
  17. It will be as it was in the days of Lot (cf. Lu. 17:28a).
    • There will be eating and drinking which is a normal activity but also typifies sensuality through gluttony and drunkenness (Lu. 17:28b).
    • Principle: The divine indictment against the people of Noah’s day and the people of Lot’s day for “eating and drinking” places double emphasis upon the divine displeasure with the gross cultural sensuality of this “good-time party life mentality” which will also exists at the time of the rapture.

    • Economic prosperity rampant in these wicked cities as they were busy buying and selling (cf. Lu. 17:28c).
    • Extensive farming implying an abundance of food (cf. Lu. 17:28d).
    • An extensive “building” industry implying great prosperity in Sodom and Gomorrah just before they were destroyed. (cf. Lu. 17:28e-29).
    • A failure to maintain a strong military defense system will cause prosperous nations to suffer military defeats, pay tributes to other nations, and need others to rescue them from their enemies (cf. Gen. 14:1-16).
    • The number of actually saved people in these evil nations will be very insignificant and the Word of God will have no influence in the land (cf. Gen. 18:23-33) with II Pet. 2:7).
    • Violence and sexual degeneracy will be a part of the normal lifestyle for a majority of the citizens of these economically prosperous good time cultures (cf. Gen. 19:1-32).
    • I. The importance of maintaining the family line and a distorted view of motherhood will result in immoral conspiracies, drunkenness, and incest (cf. Gen. 19:33-38).
